In the book “The Light of Kirpal” there is a story that says:
“One mother took her child to Mahatma Gandhi.
She said, "My son eats too much molasses; it is full of sugar." .
"All right, you come the day after.
tomorrow," Mahatma Gandhi replied. When she came up, .
he said, "Well, look here child, don't eat molasses." .
His mother said, "If that was all you had to say, .
why did you not say that the other day?" .
He said, "Because I was still eating molasses on that day."
The meaning of this story is that we must live up to the way we think, otherwise our words are powerless.
I believe that, in helping someone, I am helping myself. The patient may feel better, but the happiness is with both the healed and the healer.
There is always something more to offer a patient.
Words & affection can be more powerful than medicine.
